To counter the boycotts of Danish and Norwegian products due to these cartoons (details here), I propose that all freedom loving folks around the world, increase consumption of Danish and Norwegian foods and wares. Danish chocolates are particularly delectable and no one even comes close to smoking salmon, the way the Norwegians do. Hiking the Norwegian fjords has been a dream; perhaps this would be a good time to plan travel to Norway and Denmark and show solidarity!
Over the last couple of weeks, I have read blogs talking about India's Independence and the role played by Gandhi and the freedom fighters. But the battle is never over. We need to be ever vigilant for the insidious enemy. Stand up for the freedoms you cherish!
I was gonna stay out of this debate, but having a dictator lecturing on freedom of speech and freedom of the press, convinced me otherwise!
