Abdicated my Throne

Its official, I have abdicated my throne!

Last week, the Honorable Justice of the Bombay City Civil Court ruled in favor of our petition. I no longer command my domain. Let me introduce you to the new Supreme Commander of Arun’s World to the East and in the West. My daughter, Meera Arun Shanbhag

The above picture was taken at the ashram on the first day we saw her. The light on the porch was ethereal and gave her an angelic look. I fell in love, instantly!

That was the time of the Mumbai terror attacks; you may now understand why I was so emotional during that period. The curfew then had prevented us from our daily visits to the ashram. And I was MAD at the terrorists for THAT too!

But we persevered and here is Meera on the first day we brought her home in Mumbai. Mother M is on cloud 9!

We have been blessed, what more could we have asked for?

Here are a string of Meera Updates:

Thank you so very much for stopping by to say a few words about our daughter!

She is indeed the bestest thing that happened to us. We are indeed so lucky that she is with us.

And interesting, that she came to us during the time of the Terror attacks in Mumbai – perhaps its nature’s way of telling us that life does continue!

And thank you for taking the time to read my blogs!
Best Wishes to you and your family and friends in Copenhagen!
      Arun

    Hello Arun
I ahve read couple of articles in your blog.I have added it to my favourites. But this is my first to write back.I find it very appealing.
When I was a young girl I always thought of adopting a child, I always said that to my ‘Aai’ (Mom), that one day I would want to do that. She just used to smile at me and my thoughts. But time passed by and as I grew up, got married I happened to forget that long time ago.
I am thrilled to hear about Meera ,M and you. Awesome thought and deed, truly amazing !!
Loads of blessings to Meera(beautiful name) and tonnes of hearty wishes to you and M.(me and my husband happen to share the same name initials ‘M’ and ‘A’ [:)])

    ‘MS’
    WA,US.

    Arun Says:
Hi M – THank you for sharing your thoughts. For us, it just happened and once we got on the road to do it, we had a tiny bit of hesitation, which all evaporated once we saw Meera!

And it has been a blessing for US! and what good fortune that Meera decided to accept us as parents! (that is what worried us till the end!)

and interesting that you too are “M&A.” I think it makes a great combination!
… and don’t tell me your husband’s name is also Arun! Ha HA!
    Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
and sorry for the delay in replying to your comment!
