Abdicated my Throne

Its official, I have abdicated my throne!

Last week, the Honorable Justice of the Bombay City Civil Court ruled in favor of our petition. I no longer command my domain. Let me introduce you to the new Supreme Commander of Arun’s World to the East and in the West. My daughter, Meera Arun Shanbhag

The above picture was taken at the ashram on the first day we saw her. The light on the porch was ethereal and gave her an angelic look. I fell in love, instantly!

That was the time of the Mumbai terror attacks; you may now understand why I was so emotional during that period. The curfew then had prevented us from our daily visits to the ashram. And I was MAD at the terrorists for THAT too!

But we persevered and here is Meera on the first day we brought her home in Mumbai. Mother M is on cloud 9!

We have been blessed, what more could we have asked for?

Here are a string of Meera Updates:

Meera is a darling! Oh those big lovely eyes!
I am sure she is going to have you and M both twirled around her little finger soon (or she already has!)
I wish you both the very best with the little one, and hope you help M with trivial things such as changing diapers! (LOL, may not be that trivial once men start doing it!)

You must be thrilled right? Are they both back in the US?
Have fun Arun, I bet kids are a lot of work but they are as much or more fun too… Enjoy her!

(My guess is you are not going to have much time left for blogging now) ;)

  2. Deepa Desai says:

Awww! How precious!!! That is such a beautiful story!

Wishing all three of you the greatest joy!

    She is so precious!!!

    Deepa

and thank you for your wishes!

I only need more excuses to hold and hug her – Mom is complaining that I am spoiling her by holding her all the time! If I had my way, I would hold her all day, … and night! :-)

More siblings to join your princess? My blessings to Meera! :)

    From Arun:

Thank you for your auspicious blessings Asha!
and yes, M is super thrilled, but also tired! This
li’l m is quite a handful! and is going to be a terror! :-O

More siblings? At first we never thought we wanted kids; but with li’l m our thoughts have changed! Also, we saw soooo many kids at the ashram in need of families! In a couple of years, we may pick another child – by the grace of God!

But for now, we are enjoying this bundle of joy – that is li’l m!
