I fly to Chicago to fill in for a senior colleague. An excellent opportunity to learn and interact with the national leadership in this new area, which I was chomping at the bit to get into anyway. Great!
But the reason my colleague (and good friend) cannot go, is because his wife and mother of four, is having surgical complications secondary to breast cancer chemotherapy. Not good! Not good at all!
How am I supposed to feel? Very numb. A good time to visit the beautiful and awe-inspiring Balaji Temple in Chicago and thank him for all the things we take for granted.
