We saw Mona Lisa Smile over the weekend. It’s a decent movie, made more bearable by Julia Roberts and a great performance by Kristen Dunst.
The movie is about an Art History Teacher at Wellesley College who encourages her student to think freely. Wellesley is practically in our backyard. It was hard to imagine Wellesley students as very staid and conforming, considering today it is probably the most liberal women’s college in the US. Did you notice the reference in the movie to “future leaders of our country?” I think they were referring to famous alumnae Hillary Rodham Clinton and Madeline Albright.
