We woke up to a new President Elect! An historic step, all the more in contrast to the disastrous, preceding eight years.
This is a time of two ongoing wars and terrorists are still out there waiting for a softening. The economy is in tatters and the country in at least 10 trillion dollars in debt. The hard part of governing now begins.
Negative attacks are common place on both sides leading up to the election. And Rudy Giuliani said it well last night. Before the elections we are Republicans or Democrats, but “after the elections we are all Americans!” The people have spoken! It is time to be an American!
We are all Americans!
Added in Revision:
It was heartening to see sooo many Indians, Canadians, Europeans, Kenyans, Latinos and everyone the world over, hoping for an American Victory! To me this proves that America is still the beacon, leading the way. And disproves what the declinist Zakharia and his ilk refer to as the post-american world. Prolly, they confused America with the “Bush America!”
Hope your blog-break brings you refreshed! (and with new recipes!) :-))
These days, sermons by media pundits bores me – I have stopped reading ‘analysis or opinions’. I even have to sift News stories to just grab the actual facts and throw out the opinions.
Good to have you back!
Oh, I am doing good. I had taken a random 2 month break from the internet for no good reason. hehehe – 😀
Some people (in the public, as these television crew love to catch “citizen” responses) said Narendra Modi – hmmmm
Good to hear from you and hope all is well.
I agree completely – the media has taken this to the next level – a true Obama.mania! Now that the elections are over, let see how he solves the country’s problem.
Can India do an Obama? Ha HA
Are they implying they can hoodwink the masses into picking the next PM. OK, I see Mayawati as the obvious parallel – but she is certainly no media darling.
Perhaps the media loves Lalu – shudder!
I am actually happy that Obama totally swept the elections – but you know what got to me – this over the top CNN IBN segment celebrating the “rise of the Obama” in true over the top style, asking – Can India do an Obama? – that was just too much mania for me to digest.
Congratulations.. We too expected Obama to be elected.. Hope there will be gradual improvement in the Economy.. But he has tough challenge! Good luck to him 🙂
Everyone is waiting for the economy to turn around – but it does not seem to be in any hurry to turn around 🙂
Well put, well put. 🙂
Congratulations for electing a new president !!! Hope he would bring improvement in the current US economy…
Thank you Poornima!
Certainly an historic moment! and I think a lot of expectations are resting on his inexperienced shoulders. 🙂
Congratulations…!!! America embraced history today, with Barack Obama taking an almost unassailable lead in the race for the White House.
Hope he would bring a good revolutions for America!:)

Thank you Sonu; and now that the elections are over, I think the whole country is waiting for good karma! 🙂

Two thumbs up for Obama! He is inheriting a tough economy, but I am as hopeful as everyone else.
BTW, first time here… cool blog 🙂
THank you Anuvidya and Certainly a great performance by BO!
And as you rightly said, he inherits a tough economy and also a tattered relationship with traditional allies – all thee will have to be patched up in time!
Good Luck to America!
