At the Cape: Chatham Bars Inn

What a writing snob. I can only write sitting at my desktop computer and post pics shot with my Nikon. This has to change. So here I am at one of the most fabulous resorts on the Cape, and have to blog about it. Downloaded the WordPress app for the iPad/iPhone, and let’s see what breaks.

The gorgeous view from my room at the Chatham Bars Inn, Chatham, MA. My sixth retreat here and love this place (all pics from iPhone).

Lobsters at the Clambake. I showed great restraint this year and only had one.

  1. Wow… Lovely pics Arun..The desert looks so very tempting.. BTW pics have come out really good and as always leaves us tempted! How I wish I could have some of those juicy strawberries

    1. Thank you Ujwal;
Your blog is doing great and I congratulate you on doing an awesome job.
Oh, we had an amazing amount of berries (black-, straw- and black-) and I gorged on them by the bowl full.

      Yumm!
      Arun

  2. I see fruits on all the desert options! So, it’s healthy in my books! πŸ˜‰

Excited that you are trying out iPhone pics… hope to see more posts… of course, this probably means you will torture us with more food posts… hehhehe…

    1. You are right Smita, The desserts have become more healthy. There were hardly any of those large cheese cakes (thought I don’t mind indulging in them occasionally), and plenty of healthy options.

yes! Now I feel liberated! More food pics coming.
      Thank you,
      Arun

    1. Oh, Thank you Jessie; You are so kind, always.

Yes, eating seems to be such a big part of my life! Actually, I enjoy it the most.
      Hope you are doing well.

    1. Sush – those were orchids and certainly edible!
interesting, how they used shelled pistachios to decorate the mixed fruit tarts, no?

The salmon was certainly delicious. Except for the piece of toast with melted Brie (which was awesome), the rest was super low calorie.

      Best

  3. Hi Arun,

I think iphone snaps are really awesome when clicked with right distance and light, also as you mentioned if you tweak it a bit with all the wonderful downloadable applications then it can challenge any good brand camera!! What Say???

    1. You are absolutely right Shilpa. I need to stop being a Nikon snob and start working with what I have. … in the meantime, Nikon should develop cell phone cameras for the iPhone πŸ™‚

Hope you guys are doing well.
      Arun

  4. Hey it works well! I must try it. My latest post has 2 coffee shop iphone pics too – should have used my ipad (i had it with me) but didnt think. 😦

    1. Have to confess Ganga, I did download the Photoshop express app and crop the images (2) and added frames.
I like the iPad to type and also preview the post. THe WordPress app is pretty good, thought I think it does not synch with the iPhone correctly. Or perhaps, need to get used to working on portable platforms.

For whatever reason the Iphone camera appears better or more likely, the larger screen of the iPad, adds a lot of noise to the pic. *aaargh* wonder if it is a design glitch.

      Hope you are doing well.
      Arun

  5. Yummy post again!! The Salmon plate reminded me of the frozen shrimps lying the in fridge :D.. Will cook them tomorrow. As far as the quality of pics are concerned, I give them a thumbs up!! Looking forward for more of the iPhone posts πŸ™‚

    1. Yes! Do something spicy with those shrimp, Poornima. Every time I eat fish here, I’m thinking, this would have been soooo awesome with some nice spicy curry πŸ™‚

I am encouraged to try – Thank you for your support.
      Hope you are doing well.
      Arun

      1. I made fries out of the shrimps πŸ™‚ . Marinated them with mixture of chilli, turmeric, asafoetida, salt, tamarind and yes.. they were spicy and yummy to eat πŸ™‚
