In Indian culture, mātrudharma refers to the latent motherly instinct in women. Once a child comes along, motherly gene transcription kicks in and women instinctively know all the “How-to”s. So it has been with M, easily switching into her mother role. But there is no such tradition for fathers and I have had to learn it day by day. Of course, Meera is a great teacher! I call fatherhood a “stretch” goal and here is another whole year to keep stretching. What joy.

Shubha is doing very well. She is a darling and keeps my parents on their toes and they just love her… I get to see her only in July this year.. Let me know if you are around in Mumbai at that time would be great to meet you and have all the kids together!!
