Fujifilm X100T is ❤
Just received my X100T over the holidays and it’s a beauty. A few thoughts:
Small: It’s tiny (compared to my D600). I have small hands and can barely get my hand on the grip and not smudge the LCD. If you have bigger hands, I’d advise you handle this camera before you rush to order. It easily fits in my jacket pocket – in Boston we wear jackets 8 months in the year, so a big plus. Also fits in the city bag I sling across my shoulders and includes a water bottle, reading glasses, small notebook and pencils.
Hybrid Viewfinder: Not going to rehash any technical details, but love the hybrid optical viewfinder. With diopter adjustments, its crisp without my glasses. And the awesomest thing? After every pic do you push the camera away to check the image on the LCD? Now you can see the image in your viewfinder (for 1.5 secs). Whoa! No pulling back, I just keep my eye on the viewfinder, preview the pic and continue to compose the next shot. Haven’t tried any of the other electronic viewfinder features, but this is huge.
Flash: After the first few pics, couldn’t find the flash button and had to google it *smacks forehead*. Now I think the custom buttons are brilliant.
Film Simulation: Was curious about the many film simulation modes offered to mimic specific colors of different types of films. It was easiest to shoot pics of my daughter in all the modes and see the differences myself. See below; Meera is sassy.
Note: JPEG images are as shot, exported (from Aperture) in a smaller size. Need to work on my exposure and also learn to use Face detection. Your expert photography tips are welcome.
Examples of all Film Simulation Modes on Fujifilm X100T:
1. Provia Standard (exposure not adjusted; see better one at end)
4. Classic Chrome (am I too close, or it is the setting? both, I guess)
6. PRO Neg. Standard (thought I had turned on Face Detection; need to figure it out)
