Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam

Rembrandt's Night Watch at Rijksmuseum Netherlands by Arun Shanbhag
For as long as I can remember, a visit to the Rijksmuseum was on my short list. For nearly a decade, it was closed for renovations. When it reopened a few years ago we started planning a long trip. We planned an entire day for the Rijksmuseum. Nothing else would do it justice.
While I was motivated to scope out every nook and cranny of this magnificiently renovated palace, M&m were true campers and enjoyed the place as well. An important tip I learned over decades of museum visits – take a break in the middle of the day, leave the premises and go elsewhere for a nice lunch. Then you come back refreshed and you can re-see everything again. *grin*

Here Meera was mesmerized by the stunning stained glass wall.

Meera was intrigued by the macho poses of the militia leaders and never tired of aping them.

There is so much to see, so much to absorb, so much to adore. Another trip is certainly required.  Till then, enjoy the gallery
